Hiro4Hope is a charity cycling event that raises funds for Hope for Cambodian Children (HOPE). Each year, we organize cycling expeditions through Southeast Asia, combining adventure with meaningful impact.
The ride covers 1,265km over 7 cycling days, starting in Da Nang and ending in Siem Reap, with a meaningful stop at the HOPE school in Battambang.
Yes — this is a demanding ride. Days average around 180km and the longest run past 200km, so you should be a confident, regular road cyclist. A support van follows the group and you can rest in it for part of any day, but plan on training for at least 3 months before the ride.
Support vehicles follow the group throughout each day. If you're struggling, you can rest in the vehicle and rejoin when you feel ready. Your safety and wellbeing come first.
The $500 registration fee is a prepayment toward the ride's costs — hotels, the support crew, vehicles and guides. Flights, visas and travel insurance are not included.
Yes. Bring your own bike and your own spares, including tubes with 80mm valves — the crew has a mechanic and basic tools, but plan to be self-sufficient. You'll need to arrange getting your bike to Da Nang.
Riders are responsible for their own visas. Vietnam issues e-visas online and some nationalities are visa-exempt; Cambodia offers e-visas and visas on arrival. Check the requirements for your passport — including for the Le Thanh land border into Cambodia — well before the ride.
Yes, comprehensive travel insurance including medical evacuation is mandatory for all riders. You must provide proof of insurance before the ride.
