1,000 km, Two Legs, and One Cracking Cause: Pedalling for Cambodia’s Children My name is Minn. Born in Myanmar, my life has been spent as a global nomad; from witnessing the quiet despairs of my homeland, through the stark realities of West Africa and Eastern Europe, to the comfortable contrasts of privileged nations. Walking through such radically different worlds teaches you one indelible lesson: privilege isn't a trophy; it's a responsibility. While money is undeniably vital, true charity requires skin in the game. It demands sweat, personal effort, and genuine human connection. It’s why I spend my time on the ground volunteering with neurodiverse kids, mentoring budding pre-university entrepreneurs, sitting with homeless individuals, visiting rehab centres, and sharing a warm chat with ignored elderly folks. Now, I’m turning that energy toward the most vulnerable of all: infants and young children. I am taking on a 1,000+ km cycling through Vietnam and Cambodia; pedalling from Da Nang all the way to Siem Reap to raise critical funds for the HOPE Foundation in Battambang via the Hiro4Hope initiative. Why HOPE Foundation & Hiro4Hope? What this team achieves on the ground in Battambang is nothing short of miraculous: * Free Early Education: They run the province's only completely free, certified preschool for impoverished children—supplying daily nutrition, crisp uniforms, and an education that breaks the intergenerational cycle of poverty. * Ending Mother-to-Child HIV: Their healthcare team provides baby formula, medical equipment, and guidance for HIV+ mothers who cannot safely breastfeed, ensuring hundreds of newborns have graduated 100% HIV-free. They don't just patch over symptoms; they build permanent pathways to independence through healthcare, education, and security. How You Come In (And Why I Need My Friends!) To be completely clear: I am personally funding 100% of my own travel, accommodation, and gear. Every single penny or cent you donate goes straight to HOPE’s work on the ground. Pounding out 1,000 km in the Southeast Asian humidity will be brutal, and there will inevitably be moments where I wonder why I didn't just host a polite bake sale instead! This is where your moral support, banter, and kindness become invaluable to keep my legs spinning all the way to Siem Reap. Please dig deep and give whatever you can. Every contribution makes a direct, life-changing impact on these children. (Note: All donations are processed in USD). Thank you for your generosity, your encouragement, and for helping us build a brighter future for these kids! Cheers, Minn
